VENTURA : Group Receives Arts Council Recognition
A Ventura-based nonprofit organization targeting arts in public education has won a letter of appreciation from the California Arts Council.
Officials with the Ventura County Performing Arts Foundation received the appreciation certificate last week during a ceremony in Sacramento.
The foundation provides free professional assembly events, instructional classes, classroom materials, equipment, musical instruments and student financial aid to public schools and juvenile corrections sites.
The foundation, founded in 1994, is financed solely by business organizations.
