W.R. Grace in Talks to Sell Unit: The Boca Raton, Fla.-based firm is in talks with four medical companies about a possible sale of its health care unit, the nation’s largest kidney dialysis services business, W.R. Grace & Co. institutional shareholders said. The medical companies--Baxter International Inc., Fresenius, Gambro and Vivra Inc.--are also discussing a possible spinoff of Grace’s National Medical Care Inc. unit in which the unit would then be merged with the buyer, said two major shareholders. Discussions have focused on a sale price of between $4.5 billion and $5.0 billion, and a spinoff price of between $3.5 billion and $4.0 billion, the holders said.
