2 Arrested After Car Stolen in Tustin Is Spotted
TUSTIN — Two young men surprised a Tustin woman in her carport Saturday, allegedly stealing her car and taking her purse before they were chased and arrested by police.
The 22-year-old woman, who lives on the 15700 block of Williams Street, had just gotten out of her car about 6:20 p.m. when she was confronted by Jose Garza, 18, of Tustin, and a 17-year-old whose name was not released because of his age, police said.
Tustin Police Officer Joe Thornton spotted the car in the area a short time later, but the suspects fled. They were arrested without incident after the car struck a curb and stopped near the intersection of the Santa Ana Freeway and Jamboree Road.
