Valleywide : Hearings Scheduled on Building Proposals
Several city planning hearings, covering proposals ranging from cellular phone antennas to public storage building on agricultural land to a McDonald’s restaurant, will be held within the next few weeks at Sherman Oaks Woman’s Club, 4808 Kester Ave. or at 201 N. Figueroa St., Room 170 in Downtown Los Angeles.
Planning officials will consider requests for:
* Permission to build 162,000 square feet of public storage facilities and 55,000 square feet of retail space on Foothill Boulevard, west of Yarnell Street in Sylmar. A zone change for part of the property--from an agricultural designation to commercial--is requested. The hearing will be held at 9 a.m. Nov. 27 in Sherman Oaks.
* A conditional-use permit to build a cellular telephone antenna on the roof of a building on the southeast corner of Riverside Drive and Colfax Avenue in North Hollywood. The hearing will be held at 9 a.m. Dec. 1 in Sherman Oaks.
* A conditional-use permit to build a cellular telephone antenna on the roof of a building on the southwest corner of Owensmouth Avenue and Burbank Boulevard in Woodland Hills. The hearing will be held at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 1 in Sherman Oaks.
* A zoning variance to permit the construction of a McDonald’s restaurant with a drive-through window at 12860 Encinitas Avenue in Sylmar. The hearing will be held at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 28 Downtown.
* A conditional-use permit to allow the construction of a 62-foot-high cellular phone antenna at Patrick Henry Junior High School, 17340-A San Jose Street in Granada Hills. The hearing will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 4 in Sherman Oaks.
* A zoning variance to permit the installation of rooftop telecommunications equipment at 10443 Arminta St. in Sun Valley. The hearing will be held at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 4 in Sherman Oaks.
