SEASON AT A GLANCE: The 5-foot-7, 165-pound tailback is the area’s leading rusher among Southern Section players with 1,542 yards in 194 carries. He also has 22 touchdowns, 21 rushing. Lewis, the Golden League’s hottest recruit, has set three team records this season. He is the Antelopes’ all-time rushing leader with 4,521 yards and touchdown leader with 62. Two weeks ago, he broke Freddy Edwards’ single-game rushing record with 330 yards against Ridgecrest Burroughs. Edwards, now at San Diego State, rushed for 294.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Lewis led the Antelopes, ranked No. 1 in the The Times’ Valley poll, to a 61-24 victory over Palmdale by rushing for 270 yards and four touchdowns in 17 carries. He scored on runs of 62, five, four and 76 yards. He scored a fifth touchdown on his first reception of the season, a 15-yarder. Lewis has rushed for 600 yards and scored 10 touchdowns in his past two games.
