CASTAIC — About 100 inmates, dividing along Latino and African American lines, fought briefly at the Pitchess Detention Center over the use of bathroom facilities before being halted by guards, authorities said.
Three inmates received minor abrasions during the three-minute fistfight around 2 p.m. in the jail’s South Facility, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Jones.
On Oct. 26, eight inmates suffered cuts and bruises in a similar fight over use of the toilets. That incident was in the North Facility of the five-unit complex, he said.
