ROUNDUP : Calabasas Ties but Gets Net Victory

Calabasas High ended a two-match losing streak by defeating Beverly Hills on games, 62-54, to break a 9-9 tie in a nonleague tennis match Thursday at Beverly Hills.
Shera Weigler, Debra Pepkowitz and Shervin Saedinia each swept their sets without losing a game for the Coyotes (11-2), who are ranked second in Division II of the Southern Section.
The sixth-ranked Normans moved their top singles players in an attempt to sweep the doubles. The move forced a tie but the Calabasas singles players foiled the strategy.
Veryan McKay and Susy Meyer, the No. 1 doubles team for Calabasas, won three games in their first set to put the Coyotes into the lead in games.
Tanya Kucera and Jamie Pomerantz were also able to win three games at No. 2 doubles.
Westlake 13, Camarillo 5--Erin Smith at No. 1 singles and Helena Horak at No. 2 singles were 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 winners for the Warriors (12-1, 10-0) in the Marmonte League match.
La Reina 12, Carpinteria 6--Kristy Bear, Kristin Dickey and Lauren Dickey swept their singles sets to lead the Regents (8-2, 6-0), ranked third in Division V, in a Tri-Valley league match at Cal Lutheran.
Burroughs 12, Burbank 6--Jessica Perico recorded three singles victories as Burroughs (12-3, 8-0) clinched a share of its second consecutive Foothill League championship.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Highland d. Palmdale, 15-9, 15-3, 15-12--Sophomores Josie Wilson had 12 kills and Jennifer Crosier, another sophomore, had 18 assists for the Bulldogs (5-4, 4-2), who moved into a second-place tie with Palmdale (4-2) in the Golden League.
Notre Dame d. Louisville, 15-10, 10-15, 5-15, 15-12, 15-4--Kathryn Martin had 23 kills and Hilda Osmanian added 36 assists for the Knights in a Mission League match.
