Seven Basketball Players From Valley Region on All-American List

Street & Smith’s College/Prep All-American basketball list includes senior forward Eddie Miller and senior guard Jerome Joseph of Chatsworth High, junior forwards Jarron and Jason Collins of Harvard-Westlake, junior center Shannon Johnson of North Hollywood, junior center David Redmond of Birmingham and sophomore guard Juni Williams of Burbank, all of whom received honorable mention.
Volleyball
The Northridge Boys Junior Volleyball Club is holding tryouts Saturday at Harvard-Westlake High from 1-5 p.m.
Additional tryouts will be Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at Calabasas High.

Miscellany
To help defray medical expenses for the family of Paraclete High football player Brant Theurer, the Cal State Northridge chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon will play host to a fund-raising event Tuesday at Cafe Napoli restaurant in Northridge to benefit the family of Theurer.
The senior fullback has been hospitalized in a coma since being injured in a car accident July 29.
“My fraternity is 100% in support of it,” said SAE member Joe DaGata, whose brother, John DaGata, is a Paraclete football player and was involved in the accident.
