COLLEGE FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Soenksen Has Season-Ending Surgery

The Bruin career of senior right guard Matt Soenksen is over. Soenksen is scheduled to undergo surgery on his right foot today to repair a chipped bone. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Soenksen began the season as a starter but was forced to sit out last week’s game against Arizona because of the foot injury. . . . Defensive end Phillip Ward will sit out Saturday’s game against Stanford, the second game in a row he has missed because of a knee injury.
