NASA to Make 7th Try at Shuttle Launch Today

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. — Space shuttle Columbia had a 40% chance of good weather for its seventh attempt at a blastoff today, NASA officials said Thursday. Columbia has tied a record of six postponed launches for its 16-day science mission with seven astronauts aboard.
Since Sept. 28, it has been delayed by a leaky fuel valve, a hydraulic system problem, a computer problem, a crack in a test engine and two days of bad weather.
