PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : AFC : Knee Injury Sidelines Dolphin Tight End
Miami Dolphin all-pro tight end Eric Green will be out indefinitely after tearing cartilage in his left knee in an injury similar to the one that has sidelined quarterback Dan Marino.
Green was one of Miami’s many key free agents signed during the off-season after playing five seasons for Pittsburgh. He apparently hurt the knee in the second quarter of the Dolphins’ 33-30 loss to New Orleans.
Green will undergo arthroscopic surgery today, at which time it will be learned how long he will be sidelined.
Green caught his second touchdown pass of the season against New Orleans and has caught 17 passes for 209 yards.
