PREP EXTRA / ORANGE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL : County’s No. 1 Rusher Stopped Cold in 42-0 Loss
MISSION VIEJO — R.J. Camarena rushed for 154 yards and scored three touchdowns as Bloomington Christian shut out Capistrano Valley Christian, 42-0, in Victory League action Friday at Saddleback College.
Bloomington, which improved to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in league, held the county’s leading rusher, Bryant Wolfsberger, to minus-one yard in 12 carries. Wolfsberger entered the game with 759 yards rushing in 77 carries.
Capistrano Valley Christian fell to 3-2, 1-1.
Bloomington Christian scored on its first two possessions. Camarena scored on a 15-yard run three plays into the game. The two-point conversion gave the Ravens an 8-0 lead.
With 9 minutes 20 seconds left in the first quarter, Freddy Hernandez scored on a three-yard run--the Ravens’ fifth play of the night--to make the score 14-0.
Bloomington Christian scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to lead 36-0 at halftime.
