PREP ROUNDUP : Troy Sweeps Valencia in Girls’ Tennis
Irene Noguchi swept at No. 1 singles as Troy beat Valencia, 18-0, in a nonleague girls’ tennis match Monday at Troy.
Noguchi won, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0. Also in singles: Dana Kim won, 6-1, 6-0, 6-1, and Nancy Furukawa won, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0, for Troy (3-0), which lost to Valencia, 11-7, last season.
In other nonleague matches:
Mater Dei 13, Canyon 5--Melissa Walker and Karen Vigen won, 6-2, 6-4, 6-0, at No. 1 doubles for Mater Dei (2-3) at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center. The pair are 3-0 this season.
Tustin 12, Costa Mesa 6--Eleanor Isenhour swept at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1, 6-0, for Tustin (2-2) to improve to 12-0 on the season.
Santa Ana 13, Calvary 5--Host Santa Ana swept in doubles.
In nonleague water polo:
La Habra 23, Montebello 5--Dave Ploog had eight goals for host La Habra (5-3), which scored nine goals in the third quarter to open a 20-4 lead. Josh Drysol had five goals and Matt Jewett added three for La Habra.
