GIRLS’ TENNIS : Dana Hills Doubles Up on Los Alamitos
Dana Hills, the third-ranked girls’ tennis team in Orange County, won six of nine doubles sets on its way to an 11-7 victory over fifth-ranked Los Alamitos in a nonleague match Wednesday at Dana Hills.
Seniors Michele Johnson and Katie Tierney swept in doubles, 6-1, 6-3, 6-0, for Dana Hills (3-0), ranked third in the Southern Section Division I poll.
Danielle Brandlin swept in singles, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1, for Los Alamitos (1-2), ranked second in Division II.

Capistrano Valley 15, Foothill 3--Ashley Taylor swept, 6-0, 6-1, 6-4, for Capistrano Valley (1-2).
Connelly 13, Cerritos Whitney 5--Ali Cook swept at singles, 6-3, 6-4, 6-0, and Mera Kriz and Cari Winkler swept, 7-6, 6-2, 6-1, for Connelly (4-0).
Edison 16, Sunny Hills 2--Nichole Kojima swept, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, and Darcy McAndress, 6-3, 6-1, 6-1, for seventh-ranked Edison (2-1).
Estancia 15, Savanna 3--Camella Jaeger swept her singles sets and Leslie Najarian and Natalie Rainey swept in doubles for visiting Estancia (3-0).
Garden Grove 16, Cypress 2--Theresa Do swept in singles, 6-1, 6-2, 6-0, and Tam Dang and Quynh Nguyen swept in doubles, 6-3, 6-0, 6-0, to lead visiting Garden Grove (3-0).
Orange 16, Orange Lutheran 2--Jenny VonBehren swept at singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for Orange (2-2).
Santa Ana 10, Santiago 8--Sophomore Amanda Fults teamed with her twin sister, Melanie, to defeat Hong Nguyen and Mary Nguyen in doubles, 7-5, in the decisive set.
