Journal to Cover City’s Lighter Side
LA HABRA — A new publication hitting the streets this week will feature city tidbits “that are not news, like what’s going on in the elementary schools,†its publisher said.
Jane Williams, who will also be editor, said that La Habra Journal, a tabloid, will appear twice a month.
The staff of three photographers, four reporters, an advertising sales representative and a subscriptions clerk are all volunteers, Williams said. “We’re a shoestring operation.â€
The publication’s survival will depend on community support, she said. “It’s more an attempt to keep the community in touch with one another.â€
The first edition will be 12 pages and will be distributed free at restaurants, libraries, City Hall and other locations.
