ORANGE COUNTY ALMANAC : The Sleepy Anaheim of Old
Today, Anaheim covers almost 50 square miles and has nearly 300,000 residents, making it the 10th most populous city in California.
When the city was incorporated in 1876, its 881 residents lived in a 2.6-square-mile area centered where Anaheim Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue now meet.
