North Hollywood : Home Depot Opening May Create 200 Jobs
A new Home Depot store scheduled to open next month in North Hollywood is expected to create about 200 jobs.
Councilman Richard Alarcon, whose district includes North Hollywood, wants his constituents to get them.
Alarcon held a workshop this week for about 35 residents interested in applying for positions at the warehouse-style home maintenance store. Home Depot plans to hire cashiers, salespeople, managers and staff for the store’s phone center, among other positions, according to a Home Depot spokeswoman.
Managers at the new Home Depot, located at 11600 Sherman Way, are currently accepting applications and will be reviewing them over the next few weeks. The store is scheduled to open Oct. 26.
At a workshop held Tuesday night in Sun Valley, Alarcon, who previously worked as an analyst in the city’s personnel department, conducted mock interviews to give job applicants a sense of how to handle themselves and what kinds of questions to expect.
He also passed out Home Depot job application forms and provided advice on how to carefully and completely answer questions.
