Heavenly Prize Dominates Morris Stakes at Saratoga

SARATOGA, N.Y. — Heavenly Prize took another step toward an Eclipse Award as best older female when she easily won the 48th running of the $200,000 John A. Morris Stakes at Saratoga.

Content to race reasonably close to the pace for the first seven furlongs, she responded to mild urging from Pat Day, quickly overtook the leaders and won by eight lengths. She covered 1 1/4 miles in 2:04.
