4 Arrested in Clashes at Newspaper Plant
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. — Four striking newspaper workers were arrested during a series of clashes with police as several hundred pickets tried to prevent delivery of the Detroit Sunday papers.
The Saturday night clashes occurred at a plant where the Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press have been printing joint editions since workers struck July 13.
Three people were arrested on misdemeanor charges of obstructing officers and disorderly conduct. A warrant charged a fourth man with assault and destruction of property, both felonies, police said.
