Man Held in Slaying at Bel-Air Estate
A 32-year-old man was in custody on suspicion of murder Sunday after an alleged lovers-triangle shooting at a Bel-Air estate.
Yu Chen, 32, shot Eric Chuanyong Liu, 23, of Bakersfield, in the kitchen of a home where Chen’s ex-girlfriend was living, Los Angeles police said. The owners of the residence, whose names were withheld by police, were not home when the shooting occurred.
Police said Chen confronted Liu late Saturday afternoon and after a short conversation shot the victim several times in the face and body. Chen fired his weapon again after his ex-girlfriend, whose name was not released, asked him to leave her alone.
Chen told officers that he had shot the victim, authorities said.
