Enron Meets to Save Project: Enron Development Corp. Chief Executive Rebecca Mark met with Manohar Joshi, the chief minister of the western Indian state of Maharashtra that is considering canceling the U.S. company’s $2.9-billion power plant project. Neither side made public comments after the half-hour meeting in Bombay. A review committee is expected to submit its report to the government. Houston-based Enron denies allegations of having won the contract unfairly.
