Medicaid Abortion Ban in Utah Is Struck Down

SALT LAKE CITY — A federal judge struck down Utah’s ban on Medicaid-funded abortions for victims of rape or incest.
U.S. District Court Judge J. Thomas Greene ruled Thursday that the Utah statute violates federal Medicaid law because it only permits abortions when a woman’s life is threatened.
