Watch Out, Perrier

We feel guilty every time we serve our pets ordinary tap water--even though we do make sure it’s cold and fresh. Now a company has come up with Thirsty Dog and Thirsty Cat, triple-filtered, sparkling bottled water in beef and fishy flavors. Not every taste tester was thrilled by the Original Pet Drink Company’s answer to Perrier, however. The bubbles frightened one fat cat, and a border collie was turned off by the beefy aftertaste. But two 12-week-old puppies who haven’t been around the block yet lapped up every last drop. Available at most pet stores and supermarkets.

Cookie Cutter

A bone-shaped cookie cutter is essential for making dog biscuits. But if your dog doesn’t snack between meals (as if such a dog existed), you can always use the cutter to make cookies for your friends and say they are a present from your pooch. Bone China?

Your four-footed house companion probably doesn’t need to have food served in one of these hand-crafted ceramic bowls. That doesn’t mean your pet doesn’t deserve one--food always tastes better when you eat off something nice. The large dish, by the way, also doubles nicely as a fruit bowl.
