Risque at 8 p.m.

Rick Du Brow’s concern about risque stuff on 8 p.m. television (“Does Morals Question Go Past Politics?,” Calendar, June 10) will be justified when “Cybill” replaces “Murder She Wrote” on Sunday nights. I like “Cybill,” but it’s strictly 9:30 p.m. genre, not a follow-up to the hard-hitting “60 Minutes.”

What makes “Murder She Wrote” so popular is not only Angela Lansbury, but its intelligence in writing and acting, almost a “Thin Man” approach to its little crimes with a lot of zippy interesting byplay between characters, perfectly reflecting “60 Minutes’ ” exposes. But “Cybill”--with its “Honey, the whipped cream is melting!” innuendoes--is going to rile a lot of valuable viewers, no matter how old they are.
