LINCOLN HEIGHTS : Driver Sought in Hit-Run Killing of Woman, 72
A hit-and-run motorist whose car killed a 72-year-old woman as she crossed a Lincoln Heights street Sunday night remained at large Tuesday as police urged witnesses to come forward.
Maria Delgado was fatally injured at 9 p.m. at Griffin and Manitou avenues, said Detective Mike Brox of the Los Angeles Police Department.
“She was collecting glass bottles and was attempting to walk across Griffin Avenue pulling her [shopping] cart when she was struck,†Brox said.
A short time later, police found the suspected hit-and-run car: a green, two-door, 1994 Honda Civic with tinted windows and license number 3JNA335.
Detectives asked anyone knowing more about the crime to contact them.
