HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS PLAYOFFS : Oh Takes Over, Reaches Singles Semifinals
Fourth-seeded James Oh of Chatsworth High advanced to the City Section singles semifinals with a 6-4, 6-4 victory Tuesday over Arcadio Samia of Narbonne at the Studio City Racquet Centre.
Oh will face Noah Newman of Marshall on Thursday at the Racquet Centre. Newman dispatched Anthony Gabriele of Birmingham, 6-2, 6-0.
Sri Samasundor of El Camino Real fell to Jesse Melton of L.A. CES, 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles, Kevin Kim and James White of Granada Hills advanced with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 victory, while Jessie Suri and Vince Khazanov of Taft lost to second-seeded Jung Cho and Kevin Condon of Palisades, 6-0, 6-0.
Harvard-Westlake 12, San Marino 6--The doubles teams of Jamie Green-Wilton Park and David Hatkoff-Brian Bezonsky each swept three sets in a Southern Section Division II quarterfinal victory at the Studio City Tennis Center.
Harvard-Westlake (17-2) plays Sunny Hills in the semifinals Thursday at a site to be determined.
