Laguna Beach is probably better known for its scenic vistas and art galleries than for its churches.
The city of 24,000 has more than a dozen places of worship, including the Unitarian Universalists Fellowship hall and a Hare Krishna temple.
The seaside village’s first church was built about 100 years ago on 2nd Street, according to the book “The First 100 Years in Laguna Beach†by Merle and Mabel Ramsey.
The church was called the Laguna Chapel, according to the book.
Today, the Laguna Presbyterian Church is on that site.
