LAKE FOREST : Youth, 17, Killed as Car Runs Into Tree

A 17-year-old Lake Forest youth was killed late Sunday when a car he was riding in struck a tree, the California Highway Patrol said Monday.
The victim’s name was not released.
The accident happened about 10:20 p.m. when the car, driven by Todd Oliviera, 18, alsoof Lake Forest, left the northbound lane of Portola Parkway north of Glen Ranch Road, according to CHP Officer Jayne Norie.
The 1992 Ford Taurus veered into the median strip and struck a tree.
Oliviera, who was not cited in the crash, was taken to Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills with moderate injuries, according to the CHP.
