Mitchell Ready if Davis Isn’t

INDIANAPOLIS — Dale Davis was unable to practice Monday with the Indiana Pacers, putting Sam Mitchell in position to make his first NBA playoff start if his fellow forward’s shoulder is not better by Wednesday night.

Mitchell came through Saturday, scoring a playoff-high 11 points after Davis dislocated his right shoulder in the Pacers’ 98-84 victory, giving them a 3-1 lead in the series. “If I’m ready to play, I’m definitely going to play,” Davis said.
