THOUSAND OAKS : Little Leaguers to Be Honored--Finally
- Share via
With professional baseball back on track, the 12 players on the Thousand Oaks Little League State Championship team will collect on a promise made last August when they trek to Dodger Stadium on Sunday to be honored for their victory.
The 9- and 10-year-olds are scheduled to be recognized at 12:30 p.m., prior to the 1:05 game between the Dodgers and Chicago Cubs. They had been scheduled to appear Aug. 14, but the baseball strike derailed their recognition ceremony.
The Thousand Oaks Little League team last year won three consecutive tournaments and defeated Lakewood to win the title and become the first-ever Little League state champion of the 9- and 10-year-old age group from Southern California.
