LYNWOOD : Funeral for Deputy Slain on Patrol Set for Thursday

Funeral services for sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Blair, who was shot Friday night while on patrol in Lynwood, are scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday in Downey.
Blair, 31, was hit by gunfire after stopping to question two pedestrians near Ham Memorial Park. He died shortly afterward.
Services will be at the Calvary Chapel of Downey, 12808 S. Woodruff Ave., followed by burial at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3900 S. Workman Mill Road in Whittier.
One suspect in the shooting, Eddie Perez, 32, of Lakewood, surrendered on Saturday and is being held without bail, a sheriff’s spokesman said. A second suspect, described as a Latino, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds, is still at large.
Blair is survived by his wife and three children.
