Government to OK Ford, Toyota Plants: A senior official said Vietnam plans to give the clearance to Ford Motor Co. and Toyota Motor Corp. next month. Both companies expect to assemble passenger cars, minivans and light trucks at plants in northern Vietnam, said Nguyen Xuan Chuan, deputy minister of the Ministry of Heavy Industry. Ford plans to invest $103 million in its project and Toyota plans to spend $90 million.
