CULVER CITY : New Farmers Market to Open Downtown
Culver City this week plans to kick off a new farmers market, joining eight other Westside cities that collectively host about a dozen local produce markets.
About 25 vendors will set out their goods in a parking lot across the street from Culver Studios on Tuesdays from 3 to 7 p.m. The parking lot is bordered by Culver, Washington and Ince boulevards and Main Street.
The farmers market will be the first major event that the city will host in its new downtown, the site of a major redevelopment project.
Other Westside communities that offer farmers markets are Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Venice, West Hollywood, Westwood, Hollywood, Malibu and Westchester.
