One man was killed and another seriously injured Saturday in a single-car accident on the Antelope Valley Freeway near Acton, authorities said.
The man who died was a passenger in the rear seat when the car hit a guardrail and flipped over at Soledad Canyon Road, Los Angeles County Fire Capt. Joe Sotro said. The man suffered a “traumatic amputation just above the left knee” and died later at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Sotro said.
The driver of the car lost part of his left leg and his right foot was severely injured, Sotro said.
A third passenger was thrown from the car and received minor injuries.
