SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : City to Weigh Contract With City Manager
The City Council today will consider approving a three-year contract for City Manager George Scarborough.
Under the proposed contract, Scarborough would be paid $99,480 a year and receive a monthly car allowance of $450.
Scarborough, 44, has been working without a contract since he became interim city manager in September, 1992. He was named permanently to the post in February, 1993.
The contract calls for the City Council to evaluate Scarborough’s performance every 12 months.
Scarborough would receive cost-of-living raises or other across-the-board pay increases that the City Council approves for executive city employees.
Under the contract, the city also will pay for Scarborough’s travel for city-related meetings and professional conferences.
