CAMARILLO : City May Back Plan to Promote Business

Hoping to help a countywide business development program off the ground, the Camarillo City Council will consider on Wednesday endorsing a business incubator program that would be headquartered in rent-free or low-cost office space at Camarillo Airport.
The Ventura County Business Incubator Project would help establish young, high-technology companies in the county by assisting the fledgling firms with financial, technical and intellectual aid, said Wally Boeck, the program’s coordinator.
Specifically, Boeck said he will ask the council for a letter of endorsement to help secure the rent-free office space from the county.
If developed, the business incubator program could bring in about 40 new companies countywide that could employ more than 500 people, Boeck said.
