In other Orange Empire Conference games:

Cypress 7, Riverside 2--Pete Lythgoe didn’t allow an earned run through eight innings and Augie Ojeda had three hits, including two doubles, for Cypress. Israel Gonzalez and Brooks Morris added two hits and two RBIs each for the Chargers (24-7, 11-5).

Rancho Santiago 12, Golden West 1--Ryan Fullerton was three for five with a home run and five RBIs for Rancho Santiago (24-8, 12-6). Tony Zuniga was three for five with a triple, a home run and two RBIs for the Dons.

It was the eighth consecutive loss for Golden West.

In the Days Inn Lady Hornet softball tournament:

Fullerton 1, Napa Valley 0 (8)--Cindy Escobedo singled in the winning run in the eighth inning for Fullerton. Stephanie Mendoza allowed two hits and retired the last 17 batters of the game to earn the victory. Jill Otto pitched a one-hit shutout in the Hornets’ 3-0, five-inning victory over Golden West in an earlier game.
