Are You Wondering What’s Up at Le Dome?
Le Dome is finally getting a dome. After 18 years in business, the Sunset Boulevard restaurant is undergoing some cosmetic surgery.
Tomar-Lampert (designer of homes for Barbra Streisand, Johnny Carson and Jon Peters among others) is installing a garden terrace overlooking Sunset Plaza, pale sherbet colors and faux limestone walls inside--and a proper dome.
“I felt Le Dome should have a dome,†said Stephen Tomar. “The dome over the bar is really just a skylight. I’ll probably plaster it to look like a real dome.â€
In addition, there will eventually be four trompe l’oeil Georgian vaulted domes painted throughout the restaurant (which will stay open throughout the nearly yearlong project).
“I want to make the ceilings important,†Tomar said.

Varied Treasure: It’s an oxymoron anywhere but in L.A.--a glamorous flea market.
Don’t count on rubbing shoulders with Sherry Lansing, but the Paramount Studios lot will be the site for treasure hunting April 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Chic & Cheap Antique Market (formerly of regular Robertson Boulevard sales) will deliver some 150 dealers of vintage furniture, accessories and clothing as well as a cappuccino bar and pastry cart to help shoppers awaken from their morning stupors.
And don’t let us fail to mention the parking valets and porters to help you schlep your purchases.

Feeling Burned Out?: Listed in the always intriguing Everywoman’s Village catalogue under “Intuitive Arts†is a one-meeting course on “Color and Candle Burning†on April 19, and, no, it doesn’t have anything to do with creative table setting.
The Van Nuys-based catalogue bills “Intuitive Arts†as “an informative and valuable evening of learning how to use color and candle burning as a positive affirmation for manifesting those realities you want in your life. Workshop includes ceremonial rituals.â€
