The results of Tuesday’s runoff elections for the Burbank City Council and Board of Education will be broadcast live as the votes are counted on local cable television, city officials said Thursday.
Election results will be shown on Sammons Communications Channel 21 beginning shortly after the polls close at 7 p.m., and the vote tally will be updated throughout the evening as individual precincts are counted, officials said.
Voters will decide one seat each on the council and school board. Mary Lou Howard, a former councilwoman, and Ted McConkey, a retired technical writer, are vying for one of two council seats left vacant by the retirement of council members Bob Bowne and George Battey Jr.
The other seat will be filled by Bob Kramer, who captured enough votes in February’s primary election to avoid a runoff.
In the school board race, incumbent William Abbey is fighting to retain his school board seat against challenger David Nos.
