5 in Family Shot Dead, Father Found Injured

PALATKA, Fla. — A woman, her three children and their grandmother were found shot to death in their pajamas Tuesday at their rural home, and the youngsters’ father was discovered alive with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Police said they were unsure if they were dealing with a murder and attempted suicide or if the father, Kingkhamvong Phimmachack, and the others were victims of someone else. He was in serious condition and had not been questioned. A rifle and a shotgun were found in the house, along with spent shell casings from both weapons, police said. No sign of forced entry was found.
