Kevin G. Staker, a principal in Staker & Associates, a Camarillo law firm, has been certified as a specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law by the State Bar of California’s Board of Legal Specialization. He is also a certified specialist in taxation law.

* Annie M. Sappok has been named director of marketing at the Ojai Valley Inn. She was formerly director of conference services. She has launched a program to attract weddings, anniversary celebrations and other catered events to the hotel.

* Dawn Hodson, president of J.D. Hodson & Associates, a Ventura management consulting firm, will speak on “Combatting Self-Segregation” at a meeting of the American Society for Training and Development in Dallas next June. She will take part in a session that will focus on how groups and individuals often isolate themselves along gender, race or occupational lines.

* Stephen D. Woodworth, president of Channel Islands Equities in Oxnard, served as a moderator at a session of the White House Conference on Small Business at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles last month.
