Janex Reports Its 1st Profitable Year Since ’89

Janex International Inc., a Woodland Hills-based manufacturer of children’s products, reported earnings of $1.2 million for the fiscal year that ended Dec. 31, compared to a net loss of $2.9 million during 1993. It was the company’s first profitable year since 1989.
The improved profits came on annual sales of $13.1 million, a 743% increase from the company’s 1993 revenues of $1.5 million. President Sheldon F. Morick said the higher sales reflected Janex’s October, 1993, acquisition of MJL Marketing Inc.
