PORTLAND, Ore. — Jeff Gillooly, the ex-husband of figure skater Tanya Harding who was imprisoned for plotting to maim Nancy Kerrigan last year, is about to get out of jail and wants a new name.
Gillooly, 26, has petitioned the Multnomah County Circuit Court to change his name to Jeff Stone, according to his lawyer, Judy Snyder, who was quoted in the Oregonian newspaper Saturday.
A hearing on the name change is set for March 7, six days before Gillooly is scheduled to be released from prison.
