Company Town : Past Hanna-Barbera Exec to Form New Entertainment Firm

Bruce D. Johnson, former Hanna-Barbera executive vice president and general manager, is forming PorchLight Entertainment to make animated and live-action movies, television shows and other entertainment.
Johnson will serve as president and chief executive. William T. Baumann, former executive vice president with Great American Communications in Cincinnati, will be chief financial officer. Alyssa Padia, a former executive with Columbia TriStar home Video, will be vice president of sales and marketing.
* Ron Shapiro is expected to be promoted shortly to vice president and general manager of Atlantic Records, based in New York.
Shapiro was elevated six months ago to senior vice president and general manager of Atlantic’s West Coast office after working as vice president of media and artist relations. He will report to Atlantic President Val Azzoli.
* Jane Lieberman was named director, entertainment, at Rogers & Cowan.
* Virgin Records named Suzanne MacNary vice president of publicity and Amy Stanton senior director of video.
* Holly Leff was named vice president of Universal Pay Television.
* Karen Lu, a former Bankers Trust executive, was named director of strategic planning at Capella Films.
* Turner Pictures named Mark Belzowski vice president and controller.
* Greg Probert was named senior vice president, managing director, for Buena Vista Home Video Asia.
* Robert Meyers was named president of Village Roadshow Pictures International.
* Rogers & Cowan named Christine La Monte executive vice president, entertainment.
