Gas Tax Fraud Sentencing Postponed: Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Paul G. Flynn delayed sentencing Gary and Divine Grace Lazar, who pleaded no contest last September to 54 felony counts of state gasoline tax fraud, selling an illegal fuel mix and failing to repair leaky underground tanks at some 200 service stations they owned. Flynn will continue the hearing Tuesday morning. Prosecutors are seeking $652 million in fines and prison terms of 5 years to 8 years for both. The bankrupt corporations through which the Lazars once controlled their stations, which also entered no-contest pleas last fall, are to be sentenced in March.
