STANTON : Golf Center OKd for Old City Hall Site

A golf practice center will open in July at the former city hall site on Western Avenue.

The City Council last week approved a lease agreement between the city and Savanna School District, which now owns the land and the building that was once city hall.

Council members also approved a sublease agreement with Number One Golf, which will build and operate the center. The center will have a driving range, a putting course, a pro shop and food stands.

The lease agreement must be approved by the Savanna School District board at its Feb. 7 meeting.
