HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER ROUNDUP : Schmidt Boots 4 for Chatsworth
Trevor Schmidt scored four goals for Chatsworth High (10-2-3, 5-1-1) in a 5-0 victory over Birmingham in a boys’ Northwest Valley Conference soccer match at Chatsworth on Friday afternoon.
Schmidt, a defensive midfielder, has nine goals this season.
Reseda 6, Sherman Oaks CES 0--Alex Acevedo scored his 13th and 14th goals for the visiting Regents (15-2-4, 7-0-3) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match.
Royal 4, Thousand Oaks 0--Tim Pederson scored his seventh and eighth goals as the host Highlanders (15-4-2, 5-1) flattened the Lancers (7-8-2, 2-3-1) in a Marmonte League match.
Simi Valley 2, Agoura 2-- John Gonzalez, Simi Valley’s scoring leader, racked up his 13th and 14th goals as the Pioneers (9-0-4, 3-0-4) twice overcame deficits in a Marmonte League match at Simi Valley.
Calabasas 1, Moorpark 1--Aslan Appleman scored the tying goal with 15 minutes left for Calabasas in a Frontier League match at Moorpark.
The Coyotes (10-1-1, 3-0-1) and Musketeers (9-5-5, 1-1-2) fought to a 1-1 draw for the third time in four meetings.
GIRLS
Grant 7, Birmingham 0--Nicole Bucciarelli had three goals and Jaime Mond added two for visiting Grant (12-3-0, 8-0) in a Mid-Valley League match.
El Camino Real 10, Reseda 0--Courtney Henderson and Claudia Nino each scored two goals for the Conquistadores (5-1-1 in conference play) in a Northwest Valley Conference match at Reseda.
Royal 2, Thousand Oaks 1--Stephanie Caswell and Theresa Bartholomew scored for the Highlanders (11-8-1, 3-4) in a Marmonte League match at Royal.
La Reina 13, Carpinteria 0--In her first action at forward, Tina Onsgard scored her third and fourth goals as the visiting Regents (11-2-1, 3-0) swamped the Warriors in a Tri-Valley League match.
