Looking for his first victory in more than a year, Cardmania is the 5-2 favorite in the $150,000 Palos Verdes Handicap today at Santa Anita.

Since returning from a broken cannon bone, suffered after he won the 1993 San Carlos Handicap, the 9-year-old gelding has finished fourth in the Ancient Title, third in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint, second in the Vernon O. Underwood and fourth in the San Carlos twoweeks ago.

Eddie Delahoussaye will again ride for trainer Derek Meredith in the six-furlong Palos Verdes against nine rivals.
