PORT HUENEME : Motel Guest Drowns in Swimming Pool

A Mendocino man was found dead Tuesday morning after drowning in the swimming pool of a Port Hueneme motel, authorities said.
Port Hueneme police identified the man as Robert Donald Rack, 38, who had been a guest for several days at the Casa Via Mar Inn, 377 W. Channel Islands Blvd.
Deputy Coroner Jim Wingate said an autopsy Tuesday determined the cause of death as drowning. He said Rack told a friend at 3 or 4 a.m. that he was going for a swim.
Wingate said Rack was visiting the area to work on a sea urchin boat.
