Authorities are searching for a gunman who fled on foot after robbing the Southern California Savings bank at 996 S. Seaward Ave. about 3 p.m. Monday.
Ventura police described the robber as a 6-foot-3 white male weighing about 185 pounds.
He was wearing a red jacket with a blue shirt underneath, a camouflage-print baseball cap and half-glasses, possibly wire-rimmed.
They said he entered the bank, approached a teller, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and he fled out the front door. He was last seen walking east toward the service station at Seaward Avenue and Harbor Boulevard.
